Most Enthusiastic – CoveCare Mental Health Clinic Team “The Honey Makers”
Putnam area businesses, organizations and residents came together on Wednesday, May 18th to support CoveCare Center at their Annual Adult Team Spelling Bee, which was held after a two-year hiatus at Centennial Golf Club.
CoveCare Center CEO Eric Toth kicked off the competition by reading the first word. Veteran emcee Bill Hammond of Edward Jones, and CoveCare Center VP of Programs Krista Zanfardino then took over to lead the teams through many rounds of spelling challenges before moving to a single elimination championship round.
Heading into the championship challenge midway through 8 rounds of spelling, Nuvance Health “Team Nu-Bees” won the 1st Place Trophy by correctly spelling the word “tintinnabulation,” meaning, “the ringing or sound of bells.” Coming in at a close second place was The Patterson Rotary’s “Team F-ing Bees”. CoveCare Center’s Mental Health Clinic Team “The Honey Makers” was awarded the coveted Most Enthusiastic Team Trophy.
Other teams who donned colorful team tee-shirts and accessories in the spirit of the event included Friends of the Mahopac Library, Kathleen M. Valletta, Hudson Valley Credit Union, PCSB Bank, Carmel/Brewster Flower Club, Search for Change, and Brewster Rotary.
Volunteers from throughout the community along with CoveCare Center staff partnered to make this evening of friendly competition and laughter a success.
