Putnam County, NY – CoveCare Center is pleased to welcome Karen B. Pilner and John J. Rock to its Board of Directors. Ms. Pilner and Mr. Rock are the most recent additions to the governing body of the Carmel-based non-profit that addresses mental health needs, substance use, and social and emotional issues. As part of a new affiliation between CoveCare Center and the Mental Health Association in Putnam (MHA), Ms. Pilner and Mr. Rock will serve on each organization’s Board of Directors.
A retired Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Karen B. Pilner has worked and volunteered in the field of mental health for over 46 years. Ms. Pilner is the past President and current Vice President of MHA in Putnam’s Board of Directors and serves on other local boards, including NAMI Putnam. “CoveCare Center offers many important services to the people of Putnam County. Given the recent affiliation between MHA and CoveCare Center, I’m looking forward to supporting the important work that these two agencies can accomplish together,” stated Ms. Pilner.
Mr. John J. Rock, who retired after 30 years with the Office of Mental Health, will bring his expertise in mental health systems to CoveCare Center’s Board of Directors. A Putnam resident for over 40 years, Mr. Rock is the President of the Board of Directors of MHA in Putnam; he also serves on the Putnam County Community Service Board and NAMI Putnam. Mr. Rock stated, “Along with MHA in Putnam, CoveCare Center strives to be a part of the solution to mental health and substance use issues in Putnam County. There is much work to be done, and I am pleased to be involved in linking these two agencies and working toward a healthier community.”
