Red Ribbon Week, InspiRED Parent/Teen Art Series 2024

Celebrate Red Ribbon Week by being creative with your teen! Red Ribbon week is a National awareness week to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities! FREE, Register by Oct. 19th!

Join us for a free art series open to 5th-12th graders and a parent or an adult caregiver. These events promote drug free communities throughout Putnam County, held October 21st through Oct. 24th at a location near you – see details below.

Art with Artist Candace Winter, Oct. 21st

Dot painting is the art of making dots in different sizes in a pattern. Mandalas are seen as symbols of mindfulness and can represent personal growth, self-expression and the universe. The creation of repetitive patterns within a circle is used in meditation and quieting the mind.

On Monday October 21st you will be guided in this art form by teaching artist, Candace Winter, to create your very own beautiful Dot Mandala on a DVD! But not only will you be bringing your beautiful artworks home, but you will take away a new skill to meditate and create art that you can do on your own at home with inexpensive accessible supplies. Whether on paper, rocks, or up-cycled DVDs, dot art is a wonderful way to create beautiful art and gaining focus. All supplies for the evening are provided for each artist to create several Dot Mandalas on DVDs even take away an easel in which to display your favorite.


Paint Night with Sarah’s Art Studio, Oct. 22nd, 23rd & 24th

On October 22, 23 or 24th join artist Sarah Totten to create your own unique work of art! In this paint party, participants will be guided through a step-by-step process in a stress-free & relaxing environment.
